Churchill's Late Night Lounge

Vitals: 1611 E Seventh Ave., Ybor City. Open 1-8 p.m., then reopens at 10 p.m. until 3 a.m. Wednesday through Saturday. Major credit cards accepted.

The spot: It's a trifecta of Florida nightlife scenes. You got your Ybor cigar bar motif, then the South Beach beautiful people at-da-club thing and then the clean-cut, Soho-South Tampa thing. Really, it feels more like a bar on Howard Avenue than Seventh Avenue. The tri-level haunt feels narrow but looks vertically outstanding, with high ceilings and balconies overlooking the action downstairs. The decor is minimal and sophisticated, with exposed brick walls; high-back, curved velvet sofas; oak bars; and ultra-modern lighting.

Above it all: Get fresh air on the rooftop patio and check out a local band.

Stogies for sale: A good selection of cigars, including Maximus Diamond Crowns and a full line of Arturo Fuentes.

Dress code: Women can wear jeans if they're dressed to impress. No droopy, baggy pants or tennis shoes.

State of the Art: Top-notch sound system and DJ equipment.

Grub: None. Dine beforehand at one of the many, many eateries on Seventh Avenue. Carmine's and Green Iguana are close by.

The juice: No draft beers. Some imports and microbrews are available by the bottle; selection includes Stella Artois, Yuengling, Amstel and Blue Moon. Some designer vodkas and single malts.

DJs: Level 1 features Top 40 and hip-hop by Chad Fox. On level two, hear house and mash-ups by Pedro M.

Young folks: 18 and up, all the time.
