Gulf Beaches overcame an early three-run deficit for an 8-6 win against Cross Bayou on the opening day of the Little League District 5 major baseball tournament at Seminole.

Gulf Beaches overcame an early three-run deficit for an 8-6 win against Cross Bayou on the opening day of the Little League District 5 major baseball tournament at Seminole.

Trailing 5-2 in the second inning, Gulf Beaches scored three runs each in the third and fifth. Gulf Beaches' Tanner Cowan had a two-run homer and Trevor Warlen three RBIs added two hits. Nick Nolan, who also had two hits at the plate, picked up the win and Ben Robinson got the final five outs for the save.

SOUTHWEST 2, PINELLAS PARK NATIONAL 0: Dakota Sarafin picked up the win in relief of starter Marc Brakeman in a game that went nine innings. Southwest's Austin Rhoads had a pair of hits, including a double.

Senior Baseball

SEMINOLE 10, NORTHWEST 0: Tim Lamoureux, Cameron Lima, Shaun Starnes and Gabe Martello combined to no-hit Northwest. Every Seminole starter had at least one hit in a game shortened to five innings by the run rule.

RAINOUTS: All of Friday's District 12 10-11 and senior baseball games were canceled, as were all of District 12's major softball games.
