Editor's note: The following is a recap of the week's news events , in the words of the newsmakers.

Bruce Snow, noted Brooksville lawyer and huge fan of John Carlone's longtime eatery that is making a comeback in August as Farmer John's Key West Cafe.

County Commissioner Chris Kingsley, directing County Administrator Gary Kuhl to bring the board a list of proposed budget cuts.
"I think people have a right to know. I should do this type of talking in public. This is their (citizens of Spring Hill) money, we're supposed to be fiscally responsible. I'm not trying to micromanage anyone. I just want to know."
Robert Giammarco, a Spring Hill Fire Rescue commissioner, who was chastised at a recent board meeting for questioning expenses.
"We cannot continue to hemorrhage like that with those kinds of fees not be paid."
David Horne, assistant Hernando County utilities director, on the $750, 000 a year that it costs the county in lost dumping fees and extra worker costs to clean up items left at the transfer stations that should have been brought to the main landfill. The county will soon begin enforcing the dumping rules.
"I guess I just talked myself into believing that I wasn't guilty."
Joe Ann Bennett, former program manager of he Brooksville Housing Authority, who was sentenced to federal prison after changing her mind and pleading guilty to defrauding the government.
"Congratulations again on this awesome journey you are about to begin!"
Wendy Tellone, in a memo to Wayne Alexander, who is succeeding her as superintendent of the Hernando County School District.
"If you get a hundred or so fireworks going off wrong, it makes for a tough day for us."
Frank DeFrancesco, assistant chief of Hernando County Fire rescue, supporting the county's continuing ban on fireworks during the drought.
