Rock, rolland bang, with a bit of twang

Celebrate Independence Day at Coachman Park, 301 Drew St. Southern rockers The Outlaws will perform at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday followed at 9 p.m. by Starship. 10K will help Dunedin Kiwanis

Knology plans concert, fireworks

Enjoy the sounds of the 1950s by The Impacs on Tuesday at Knology Park, 311 Douglas Ave. Gates open at 6:30 p.m., music starts at 7 and fireworks are planned at 9:30. City Marina setting for this blast

The Safety Harbor Independence Day Celebration will have music, live entertainment and fireworks at the Safety Harbor Marina and the City Marina. The event starts at 5 p.m. Wednesday. Fireworks are planned for 9 p.m. No personal fireworks, including sparklers, are allowed. Call 724-1572.

Go to Fred Howard Park for this one

Get the best view of the Tarpon Springs Independence Day fireworks display, which begins at sundown Wednesday, from Fred Howard Park, 1700 Sunset Drive. The park, beach and causeway all will be open. No alcohol, fireworks, including sparklers, are allowed into the park. Call 938-3711.

Pets don't like boom of fireworks

Keep your pets away from Fourth of July celebrations. Sudden noises can hurt dogs' ears and cause them to run away. Pinellas County Animal Services officials say there is an increase in lost dogs after holidays with fireworks. Frightened dogs might even bite.
