Swimming The New Port Richey Pool is hosting a developmental team through Aug. 3 that will be coached by Tara Jacobs and Michael Blum. The team is for budding competitive swimmers. Practices are held Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays; anyone interested must be able to swim 25 yards freestyle and backstroke. Call (727) 841-4560. Softball The Lutz Leaguerettes girls slowpitch program will hold registration for its fall instructional season July 7 at the Oscar Cooler Park on Lutz Lake Fern Road between US 41 & Dale Mabry from 10:30-noon. The league is open to all girls ages 6-17 (as of Sept. 1, 2007). Practices begin the last week of July with games played on Saturday mornings from Aug. 13-Oct. 6.
