Little League Softball

The mad frenzy of Little League tournaments continues this week so here is our attempt to get you centered. Pasco County has teams in the three districts listed below with a breakdown of remaining games. All tournament winners advance to sectional tournaments.
District 25
Where: Land O'Lakes Recreational Center
Who: Dade City, Land O'Lakes, New Tampa, North Seminole and Zephyrhills
Minors: Dade City and New Tampa played Monday night with the winner advancing to tonight's championship game against Land O'Lakes at 6:30 p.m. Zephyrhills was eliminated.
Majors: Land O'Lakes and Dade City played Monday night with the winner earning a berth to Friday's championship at 7 p.m. The losing team plays Thursday at 7 p.m. New Tampa and North Seminole play tonight at 7 with the winner advancing to Thursday's game against the LOL/DC loser. Zephyrhills was eliminated.
District 15
Where: Crystal River
Who: Central Citrus, Dunnellon, Greater Hudson, Inverness, Shady Hills, West Hernando
Major: Pool B Shady Hills/West Hernando defeated Dunnellon on Saturday then lost to Greater Hudson on Sunday. SH/WH plays Central Citrus tonight at 6:30 p.m. Greater Hudson plays Dunnellon at 6:30. The winner of Pool B plays the runnerup of Pool A, and the winner of Pool A plays the runnerup of Pool B in the semifinals. The championship is Saturday at 10 a.m.
District 12
Where: Sid Lickton Complex in Clearwater.
Who: Clearwater, Countryside, Dunedin, East Lake, Palm Harbor, Safety Harbor, Oldsmar, Tarpon and West Pasco
9-10: West Pasco will play Thursday night at 7 in the third round after wins against Safety Harbor (16-4) and Dunedin/Clearwater (9-3).
Majors: West Pasco won its firs-round game against Tarpon/Oldsmar (5-4), but was dropped into the loser's bracket after a loss to Dunedin/Clearwater (8-1). West Pasco was scheduled to play Monday night facing elimination. A win would advance West Pasco to Thursday night's game at 8, still needing four victories to claim the tournament title. And if West Pasco keeps winning, games are scheduled for Friday night at 7, Saturday morning at 11 and Sunday afternoon at 3 for the championship.
Juniors: Play tonight at 7 in an opening-round game against Countryside/Tarpon/Palm Harbor. The best-of-three series continues Saturday at 1 p.m. and the final (if necessary) would be Sunday at a time to be determined.

Congratulations Minor 9-10 Land O Lakes softball on taking home the championship! LOL beats New Tampa 8-3 on 7/3/07!

No word on the 9-10 Majors from Hudson? They have won 2 of their 3 games beating Shady Hills 17-6 on sunday and West Hernando 9-7 last evening. They go on to play Friday night in Central Citrus. Unfortunately, I don't know who they are playing yet
