A note to readers about obituary notices
By TIMES STAFF
Published July 7, 2007
Starting on the publication date of July 9, the St. Petersburg Times will offer free, seven-line obituary notices to our readers who have lost loved ones. They may choose to purchase additional lines. Family members also will be able to publish more personal information, a photo of their loved one, funeral service details and emblems to recognize affiliations. Obituaries will be published daily in the B section of the St. Petersburg Times and will appear on tampabay.com/obits for 30 days. An online guestbook will be included in all paid obituary notices.

why not, you just don't get it. the first things readers want is their local news not some news in another county.

Willot subscribe after my subscription runs out. Senior citizens can not always afford to have to pay for these things, give that some thought

I can't believe the paper would charge for obits, you should respect your subscribers, more, the papers charge enough, aren't we worthy of having our loved one mentioned and honored for free, get with the program , this is America.
