A note to readers about obituary notices
By TIMES STAFF
Published July 8, 2007
Tomorrow, we will launch a new format for our obituaries. Among the changes: - All obituaries will appear in the B section on a page called Remembering. - Families can write a free, seven-line notice and purchase additional lines. - All paid notices will include an online guest book. - We will write a daily feature called Epilogue, about someone who has lived an unusual life. - Obituaries will be available free online for 30 days. Contact us with your feedback at obituaries@sptimes.com.

We could always pay for a tribute but never got scalped for pertinent info that took more than 7 lines.

Do not like the new format at all. Very confusing and impersonal. This is a person's life we are talking about and the new format takes away from them. PLEASE go back to original format, was much more diginified and respectful. Thank you!

Dump your new format! Holiday and Port Richey are NOT in Pinellas. The Epilogue feature in today's paper (7/10) was not on Page 4 (as promised) but on Page 6. Keep your special feature, but go back to the old format, by city name.

In most cases it is sad enough for family and friends who have lost loved loved ones to death. Now you prey on the inheritance(s)of the deceased estate for a few or several dollars. Seven lines may not be enough for all of the survivers (if any).
