Combined two-hitter propels Palma Ceia
Four pitchers gave up just two hits as Palma Ceia/Interbay/Tampa Bay beat Palm Harbor 7-0 in the team's opening game of the Section 7 Major Softball tournament Friday at Fisher Field.

DUNEDIN - Four pitchers gave up just two hits as Palma Ceia/Interbay/Tampa Bay beat Palm Harbor 7-0 in the team's opening game of the Section 7 Major Softball tournament Friday at Fisher Field.
Christina Gerecke, Blair Martin, Rachel Hampton and Sarah Miller combined for the shutout in a game where Palma Ceia/Interbay/Tampa Bay made no errors and had no strikeouts at the plate.
PC/IB/TB scored four runs in the first inning, led by Natalie Franklin's two-run double and Ashton Hill's RBI single. In the second, Ashley Cozart hit a two-run single, and Sarah Miller drove in the final run in the third.
PC/IB/TB's Caroline Bado went 3-for-4.
PALMA CEIA/I'BAY 22, TARPON/COUNTRYSIDE 4: Palma Ceia/Interbay rolled to victory behind solid defense and strong pitching in a 9-10 Softball matchup. PC/IB's Ashley McWilliams led the scoring with a three-run home run.
W. PASCO 3, BAYSHORE 0: Blaize Grabowski pitched a complete-game shutout with 10 strikeouts leading West Pasco over Bayshore in 9-10 Baseball. Bayshore's Jonny Turkel had two of the team's three hits. Bayshore faces Crystal River at 10 a.m. today in Dunedin.
PALMA CEIA WINS JUNIOR TITLE: Palma Ceia defeated Bayshore 5-0 to capture the District 6 Junior Baseball title.
Alex Duke provided some defensive highlights, making two running catches in rightfield. Lance Martin earned the win, pitching five strong innings. Tyler Linabury pitched the final inning and provided a two-out, two-run single in the first.
In Palma Ceia's four tournament games, the team made only one error and its pitchers allowed just four walks.
Section 4
New Tampa defeated Bloomingdale 5-2 at Lake Wales in Major Softball. Bloomingdale's Olivia Cuellar hit a two-run double. All other Section 4 games were delayed by rain and final scores were not available at press time.
