SPAIN - Two U.S. brothers who were gored simultaneously by the same bull Thursday were recovering a hospital in Pamplona on Friday. Lawrence and Michael Lenahan were among 13 people injured Thursday. It was the worst day for injuries in the nine-day festival. "I started yelling at my brother to show him I was bleeding everywhere but he showed me he was bleeding everywhere," said Lawrence Lenahan, a 26-year-old Air Force captain from Hermosa Beach, Calif., in a telephone interview from his hospital bed. He was gored in the buttocks, while Michael Lenahan, 23, of Philadelphia, was injured in his leg and was recovering well from surgery at the same hospital. Michael Lenahan had recently overcome testicular cancer that had spread to his abdomen and the brothers were celebrating. "He decided he wanted to live life to the fullest. He said 'Once a year I'll do something exciting.' And he did," their father, Larry Lenahan said.

Bin Laden praises 'martyrs' in video

EGYPT - A new al-Qaida videotape posted today on a militant Web site featured a short, undated clip of a weary-looking Osama bin Laden praising martyrdom. The bin Laden clip, which lasted less than a minute, was part of a 40-minute video featuring purported al-Qaida fighters in Afghanistan paying tribute to fellow militants who have been killed in the country. The al-Qaida leader glorified those who die in the name of jihad, or holy war, saying even the prophet Mohammed had been wishing to be a martyr. "The happy (man) is the one that God has chosen him to be a martyr," added bin Laden, who was shown outdoors wearing army fatigues and looking tired. The authenticity of the video could not be verified, but it appeared on a Web site commonly used by Islamic militants and carried the logo of as-Sahab, al-Qaida's media production wing. Bin Laden, whose whereabouts are unknown, last had been heard from on July 1, 2006.
