Sheriff's office investigating infant's death

DADE CITY
The Pasco Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of an 8-month-old Dade City boy who died July 9 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa. Jessica McCormick, 19, told police her son, Bryce, was having a seizure when she checked in on him on July 7. She called 911 and the baby was transported to St. Joseph's. The medical examiner has not determined the cause of the boy's death. The police report said there were no obvious signs of trauma. Deputies did not have the name of the boy's father.

Police identify man walking on U.S. 19
Police have identified the pedestrian who was killed Sunday morning when he stepped in front of a pickup truck on U.S. 19 near Palmetto Road. According to the New Port Richey Police Department, he was William Coleman Cruse, 49, of 6848 Hacher Drive, No. 38, in Port Richey. The crash took place at about 6:40 a.m. Sunday. Cruse was pronounced dead at the scene.
Man reported peeping at girls
He wore white boxers, no shirt. He was perhaps 5-feet-8, 160 pounds, in his teens or early 20s, with black hair. And according to a report taken by a sheriff's deputy, he was seen standing outside a cabin in Starkey Park on Monday night, looking through a window, as two girls, ages 9 and 11, changed their clothes. The deputy looked around for evidence but found none. The man was not caught. The deputy told the complainant to keep the cabin's doors and windows locked.

Man accused of exposure at pool
A 62-year-old man is accused of exposing himself to two girls under the age of 14 in the community swimming pool at the Meadow Pointe subdivision. Arthur E. Snyder, of 1144 Kennewick Court, Wesley Chapel, was arrested Monday morning on a charge of lewd or lascivious exhibition. A sheriff's report said the girls, who were wearing goggles, swam under the water about 5:30 p.m. July 10 and saw him expose himself. Snyder, whose arrest reports says he works as a baker at Busch Gardens, was released from the Land O'Lakes jail on $10,000 bail. According to the report, he said he exposed himself by accident.

Correction
The weapon that authorities say Warren Darrell "Smitty" Smith used in the attempted murder of David Eugene Ford Jr. was a TEC-9 semi-automatic pistol. The gun was described incorrectly in a story in Sunday's Pasco Times.
