Lunsford's son sentenced in fondling case

An Ohio judge has ordered Mark Lunsford's son to undergo a sexual offender assessment, part of his sentence for fondling a 14-year-old Ohio girl.

Joshua Lunsford was 18 when police accused him of twice fondling the girl. A police report listed them as romantically involved. The girl's mother told police she had told Lunsford several times to stay away from her daughter and threatened to press charges if he didn't.

He was initially charged with sexual conduct with a minor, a fourth-degree felony, court records show. The charge was reduced to unlawful sexual conduct, a first-degree misdemeanor, as part of a plea agreement.

Municipal Judge Thomas Trempe sentenced Lunsford to 10 days in jail and a year of probation in addition to a sex offender assessment. It's unclear from court records what is involved in that assessment.

Mark Lunsford is the father of slain Citrus County girl Jessica Lunsford.

its funny how idiotic our lawmakers are. Since 1776 they cant figure out how to get it right? A 17 y/o guy having consensual sex with a 16 y/o girl is a "sexual predator" but a 90 y/o guy having sex with a 17 y/o girl is ok? Our lawmakers are Idiots!

It's sad that two hormone laden teenagers got caught up in this. With existing laws, he should be considered a sex offender for the rest of his life. His father should have considered that with his political campaign to influence legislation.

Whose idea was it to exploit his sister's death via the shirt in court to gain compassion, Mark's or Josh's. That is so sick.

Joshua walks free while hundreds of other boys/young men like Genarlo Wilson, Ricky (http://www.ethicaltreatment.org/mary.htm), Zach Campton etc., are in jail and will be registered sex offenders for life. All three boys named above juveniles charged

What a joke, the rules have to apply to all. The double standard continues to rear it's head in the legal system, the laws are out of control and ineffective. Time to make laws that make sense, rather than make laws to earn votes in election years

They sure threw the book at him. An adult that molests a child receives 10 day sentence, while little children will spend rest of life on registry. Obviously the Jessica Lunsford act Doesn't apply to a Lunsford.
