Operation Backpack needs donations

Cash donations are needed for Operation Backpack, which will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 11 at the Jerome Brown Community Center, 99 Jerome Brown Place.

The event provides backpacks filled with school supplies to area children in kindergarten through eighth grade.

The goal is to provide more than 2,000 free backpacks to children in the community. All donations are tax deductible. Call Mike Walker at 544-5495 or JoAnn Munford at 544-5498.
