HYDE PARK - The Wine Exchange will host Spirits, an art event presented by the production company Eleven/17, on Thursday. The restaurant, which recently reopened after closing in May, will feature 14 local artists, musical group Morgan & Wildflower, as well as TampaBayMuse.com - a local promotional organization that will sell a new benefit CD titled StandUp. All proceeds from the CD will be used to raise money for the national volunteer group that helps homeless children get off the streets, standupforkids.org. "These artists need recognition, and they are all very good," said Rob Haskew of Eleven/17. "There is art in the Tampa Bay area, whether people believe it or not." A Port St. Lucie artist who goes by the name Cellophaneart will also sell his work to raise money for abused children. Cellophaneart creates children out of plaster and cellophane and is known for donating most of the proceeds from his works to organizations that help sick, injured or abused children. Other local artists include photographer Deborah Muller, popular artist Robert Wegmann and modern abstract painter and T-shirt creator Linda Chaney. Admission is free: 6-11 p.m. The Wine Exchange, 1611 W Swann Ave., Tampa. For more information, call 254-9463.
