Deaths may be murder-suicide

A man shot his wife, his dog and himself, authorities say.

ZEPHYRHILLS - Investigators on Thursday discovered what they believe is a grisly murder-suicide in the bedroom of an elderly Pasco County couple's mobile home.

Investigators believe Bruce Aiken, 73, shot and killed his wife, 81-year-old Evelyn Aiken, with a .38 caliber handgun. Aiken then shot and killed the couple's golden retriever before turning the gun on himself, authorities said.

A note was left, but authorities have not released its contents.

Pasco Sheriff's deputies received a call Thursday around 3:40 p.m. asking them to check the Aikens' home at 36922 Grace Ave. The couple had not been seen or heard from in several days.
