1. Rescue Dawn - Prisoners of war (Christian Bale and Steve Zahn) make a desperate escape into the Laos jungle. Based on a true story.

2. Hairspray - John Travolta is a minor drag, but newcomer Nikki Blonsky is an enchanting, plus-size star on the rise.

3. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix - Not quite as magical as the first four movies, but try telling that to Potterphiles.

4. Sunshine - Director Danny Boyle (Trainspotting, 28 Days Later) creates a trippy space odyssey from sci-fi archetypes.

5. Crazy Love - Love doesn't get any crazier than this documentary of one couple's romance, revenge and pathetic need.
