FORT LAUDERDALE - Shilo, Sage and three of their feline friends are recovering from smoke inhalation after firefighters treated them with pet oxygen masks. Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue saved six cats from Annette Townsend's burning home Friday night. Five survived, thanks to the new masks, which were added to engines about six months ago. Townsend came home from work to thick, black smoke pouring from her front door. Firefighters saved the cats and rushed them to an animal hospital, where they are recovering in the intensive care unit.
