Parents: Here's key school information

School starts in less than three weeks and school officials want to remind parents of several key requirements. First, any parent who still needs to register their child for school this year should call the district as soon as possible at 587-2020. For bus riders: Postcards are being mailed this week to 69,000 eligible students with bus stop locations, pickup and return times. The call center is open to questions 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. now through the first several weeks of school. The first day of school is Aug. 21.


Submit photos for calendar contest

Do you have a special photo that should be displayed in every home in Safety Harbor? If so, submit it for the 2008 city of Safety Harbor calendar photo contest by the end of August. This year's calendar theme is "Art and Architecture of Safety Harbor." One $100 winner will be chosen for the cover photo and 12 $25 winners will be chosen for the monthly photos. Entries must be 8 by 10 inches or 8.5 by 11 inches and accompanied with an entry form. Photos must be taken in Safety Harbor and are limited to five entries per person.
