Take initiative, men, go to male career expo

Learn about St. Petersburg College programs geared to support men at the Male Outreach Initiative Male Career Expo.
- 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday in the AD building lobby at the college's Clearwater campus at 2465 Drew St.
- 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday in the AD building lobby at the Tarpon Springs campus, 600 Klosterman Road.
- 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday in the UP lobby at the Seminole campus, 9200 113th St. N.
The event will cover programs that could lead to careers in business, crime scene technology, education, fire science, law enforcement and more. St. Petersburg College administrators created the Male Outreach Center to increase male enrollment through programs that focus on responsibility, leadership and respect. Call Rod Davis at 791-5917.
Toastmaster can help with speaking
If speaking in public before small or large crowds is your worst nightmare, Toastmasters can help. The Donoghue-Dunedin Toastmasters Club can show you how to listen effectively, think on your feet and speak confidently in a supportive and nonintimidating environment. Pro coach teaches basketball camp
Will you be the next LeBron? Joe O'Neill, a basketball coach for 30 years who has coached in high profile college programs and guided two former NBA players, will coach Triple Threat Basketball Camp from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at Countryside Recreation Complex, 2640 Sabal Springs Drive, Clearwater. Camp is for girls and boys ages 7 to 14. Campers will receive a T-shirt and basketball skills evaluation. Cost is $150. Call 669-1914.
En guard! Learn basics of fencing
Learn the basics of fencing with professional instruction from 7 to 9 p.m. Mondays at Southwest Recreation Complex, 13120 Vonn Road. Students learn footwork, blade skills, attack and defense skills.
