The Continuing Education Academy and the Hernando Builders Association will offer several construction- and business-related seminars and courses to the public from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at HBA headquarters, 7391 Sunshine Grove Road, Spring Hill.
Construction business management seminars and courses offered Tuesday include: Labor and Liability Challenges of Today's Contractors three hours; Business Planning for the Future (one hour); Understanding Workers Compensation (one hour); Advanced 2004 FBC Summary (one hour), and Worksite Safety (one hour).
Tools and techniques of business management seminars and courses offered Wednesday include: Construction Business Management (five hours), and Asset Protection for Contractors (two hours).
The cost is $125 for HBA members and $150 for nonmembers. The price includes lunch and course materials. Cancellations must be received 48 hours in advance to receive a refund.

Service Corps of Retired Executives, Pasco-Hernando Chapter 439 will offer a seminar on starting up a new business from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Career Central Spring Hill, 7361 Forest Oaks Blvd., Spring Hill.
Jim Waters, of SCORE Chapter 439, will present the seminar. Topics will include filing an application for an occupational license, registering a fictitious company name with the Florida State Revenue Service and filing for a federal employer identification number.
Participants will review small business accounting principles and practices.
