Take a stroll and see what art's new
By Lennie Bennett, Times Art Critic
Published August 9, 2007
Many downtown galleries have new summer exhibitions, and the monthly gallery walk is a good time to peruse them. ArtSpace rotates featured artists, and now the spotlight is on Paula Allen's "Pollyzoom Town" with paintings, ceramics and drawings.
At Florida Craftsmen, a collection of Roddy Reed's ceramics is on show and sale. Reed, who died in 2005, was celebrated for his exquisitely detailed and proportioned pinch pots, a sampling of which is shown. All proceeds from the sale of his work are designated for charities that he chose benefitting the arts and environmentalism.
