'Power' team's feats amaze congregation

NEW PORT RICHEY - Daniel Rock was amazed with the strength the ThirdDay Power husband and wife team displayed at his church Sunday.
"Just watching him bend a half-inch solid steel bar in half was incredible," Rock said. "And, it is always refreshing to see someone who has a testimony."
Jannet Abraham-Clark and husband Ray Clark performed feats of strength as they shared their experiences with Jesus Christ with the congregation of the River of Praise Church on Sunday night.
"I've seen power teams before, but this was more memorable," said Rock. "She started bending a horseshoe and he finished it to look like a heart."
The couple met in South Africa seven years ago.
"I met my husband in South Africa on Oct. 31, and we were married on Nov. 14," she said. "If God has to take you to the other side of the world for your dreams to come true, you better go."
Later they discovered that they lived less than 2 miles apart in Altamonte Springs.
Ray was a part of the power team based in Dallas when they met. In 2000, she joined the team to becoming the first woman on the power team.
"Before joining the team I traveled on my own," she said.
"I became a Christian in 1987," she continued. "My family thought that I was nuts, but since then my three brothers have turned to Christ. My mother died when I as 18, and I am still praying for my father."
The pastor of the River of Praise Church was pleased with the ThirdDay Power Team's presentation.
"They were the best I've ever seen," said the Rev. Ron Peeples. "They used physical strength to present the Gospel of Jesus Christ."
The Clarks say they both reached rock bottom in their lives but have risen to face and overcome the difficulties through the power of God.
"We share messages of encouragement motivation and messages of faith, hope and love," she said. "And, our strength comes from God, not steroids."
