After giving a speech and telling a few jokes at his wedding reception, Jeff LaPlume turned to his bride Cyndie Natoli and said, "I'm the luckiest guy in the world. I love you, baby." Cyndie recalls it fondly: "It caught me by surprise." At that moment, Jeff's father, Roger LaPlume, snapped this photograph. The couple met four years ago when Cyndie went to Jeff, an optometrist with Lenscrafters in Largo Mall, for an eye exam. Their first date three years ago was to a Devil Rays vs. Red Sox game. A wedding officiant married the Clearwater couple the evening of Feb. 17 at the Safety Harbor Resort & Spa. The date was special because the couple became engaged July 17, 2006, and Cyndie's birthday is Nov. 17. It is a first marriage for Jeff and a second for Cyndie. Her daughter, Ashley O'Connell, was maid of honor. Cyndie is an executive assistant at the St. Petersburg-Clearwater Convention & Visitors Bureau in the Icot Center, Largo. Among her responsibilities: researching locations for destination weddings.
