Church observances honor war victims

Good Samaritan Church has begun a second year of remembering those who have died in the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan. The observances are held on the second Sunday of each month. After worship, the congregation sits in silence as the church bell tolls for each American service person killed during the past month. Besides honoring those who have been killed, those who attend are invited to pray for the dead and wounded and their families, and civilians hurt by the conflict. Services start at 10:30 a.m. at the church, 6085 Park Blvd., Pinellas Park.
