Plumb House Museum: Tour the historic Plumb House Museum, an original Cracker-style house built in 1896. It houses period furnishings, vintage photographic collections and artifacts. The Clearwater Historical Society offers free tours on the first and third Thursdays from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. year round. The two-story wood house is at 1380 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave., Clearwater. "Picnic in the Park": Celebrate the month of August in Safety Harbor with live music by The Wildlife Refugees, delicious food, craft vendors, and a skate jam at the 3rd Friday Music Series from 6 to 9 p.m. along Main Street from Bayshore Boulevard to Sixth Avenue. Wearable art: Be amazed at the ingenuity of emerging and established artists at the third annual Wearable Art Fashion Show at the Dunedin Fine Art Center, 1143 Michigan Blvd. The show will feature designs by Blackbird, Carly Champagne, Ben Chmura, Yasmin Fouad, Tia Gugliotta, Deborah Kynes, Katy Long, Rogerio Martins, Aleka Phoenix and Frank Strunk III, who will use a variety of media, including fabric, paper and metal to push the envelope in clothing design. Found objects: Indulge your interest in art by creating an "objet trouve" sculpture from 7-10 p.m. at the Gulf Coast Museum of Art, 12211 Walsingham Road, Largo. The free event will feature entertainment, food and drink, a caricature artist and scavenger hunt. All those becoming Les Fauves members will receive a welcome gift. Enjoy classic rock: Tampa Bay classic rock cover band Stone Gypsy will perform from 8-10 p.m. at the Summer Concert Series in Largo Central Park, 101 Central Park Drive. Back-to-school celebration: More than 900 backpacks filled with school supplies, including paper, pens and pencils, glue sticks, scissors and more, will be given away free to children in need from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Alpha & Omega Learning Center and outreach ministry of Countryside Cathedral Church of God, 2701 Rigsby Lane, Safety Harbor.
