The following breakfasts and lunches will be served in Hernando County schools this week. Students in kindergarten through third grade have a choice of one entree and two side dishes plus a choice of milk each day. Students in fourth through 12th grades have a choice of one entree and three side dishes plus a choice of milk.
Elementary and secondary breakfast
Monday: Bagel with cream cheese or cereal with cinnamon toast, fresh fruit, assorted juices.
Tuesday: Pancakes and ham or cereal with bear grahams, potato triangles, assorted juices.
Wednesday: Waffle sticks or cereal with half a bagel, chilled peaches, assorted juices.
Thursday: Breakfast pizza or cereal with animal crackers, chilled mixed fruit, assorted juices.
Friday: Chicken and biscuit or cereal with graham crackers, chilled pears, assorted juices.
Elementary and secondary lunch
Monday: Entrees - Chicken caesar wrap, stuffed cheese sticks with marinara sauce, or meatball sub. Choice of sides - Lettuce and tomato salad, seasoned corn, chilled pears, assorted juices.
Tuesday: Entrees - Caesar salad, chicken sandwich or tacos with garnish. Choice of sides - Broccoli with (or without) cheese, Spanish rice, chilled peaches, assorted juices.
Wednesday: Entrees - Fresh fruit and cheese plate, hamburger or chicken fajita. A brownie is included with the entree. Choice of sides - Mixed green salad, baked beans, applesauce, assorted juices.
Thursday: Entrees - Tossed vegetable salad, bean burrito or lasagna with breadstick. Choice of sides - Antipasto salad, seasoned green beans, chilled mixed fruit, assorted juices.
Friday: Entrees - Chicken salad scoop with salad, baked-to-rise pizza or fish sticks with roll. Choice of sides - Tossed salad, baked chips, cinnamon apples, assorted juices.
