Volunteers needed for Gulfside Regional Hospice: Hospice will host a three-day training event from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sept. 18 to 21 for new volunteers.
Individuals are needed to help in all aspects of the hospice program: giving caregivers a break, making reassuring phone calls to survivors, office assistance, working in the thrift shops, cooking, assisting patients and families in the Gulfside Hospice Houses and more. The current core of 350 volunteers needs to be increased to meet the needs of patients and their families.
Training will be held at 6117 Trouble Creek Road, New Port Richey. To sign up, call Kathie Poole at 727 845-5707.
Interested in becoming an Eagle? Hudson Eagles Aerie 3997 at 6840 Beach Blvd. will have a membership drive and open house from Friday to Aug. 26. Doors open at 10 a.m.
The aerie will also host a beach party starting at 5 p.m. Saturday. There will be food, music and drawings.
