Copy of driving record available for purchase

Starting this week, you can buy a copy of your driving history from the Pinellas County clerk of circuit court. The clerk has contracted with the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles to offer the service, which was not available locally earlier. Before, according to Clerk Ken Burke, people often needed a copy of their driving history quickly but had to order it by mail. Fees are $8.10 for a three-year history transcript and $9.10 for a seven-year transcript. You can buy only your own transcript and must present photo and signature identification. Transcripts can be purchased at the clerk's Criminal Court Customer Services Department in the Criminal Justice Building at 14250 49th St. N, Clearwater, and at the clerk's Tyrone Branch, at 1800 66th St. N.
