VOLLEYBALL TRYOUTS: Central tryouts end today. Varsity will be at 7 a.m. and 2 p.m.; and junior varsity and rookie team tryouts from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. All tryouts will be at the school. The first varsity match will be Aug. 24 and the first JV/rookie match will be Aug. 27. All girls must complete and submit all athletic paperwork, including a physical, to Vickie Weaver before trying out. The paperwork is available at the front office. Call coach Weaver at 797-7020, ext. 209.

- Hernando JV and rookie tryouts are today only. All physicals and additional paperwork must be completed in order to tryout. For times on varsity tryouts or any additional questions contact coach Cristi Charlow at 352 585-1744.

- Nature Coast will be having tryouts for anyone interested in playing volleyball today after school from 3:30-5:30 in the gym. You can pick up the paperwork in the front office from 9-4 Monday through Friday. In order to try out, you will need to have all paperwork completed. If you have any questions please call the school at 797-7088.

Fall Ball: Signups for West Hernando Little League's fall baseball and softball teams starts Friday. Registration is at the clubhouse at 2313 Founder Ave. Call (352) 232-4671 for more information. Specific dates and times are: Aug. 23-24 (6:30-8:30 p.m.), Aug. 25, Sept. 1 (9 a.m.-noon), Aug. 30-31 (6:30-8:30 p.m.) Final registration is Sept. 6-7 (6:30-8:30 p.m.) and Sept. 8 (9 a.m.-noon).
