Fall Art Exhibit opens at Brooksville City Hall Art Gallery: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., 201 Howell Ave., Brooksville. The fall exhibit includes works from the Hernando Quilters, Suncoast Ship Model Society, Spring Hill Camera Club and Just Poets; paintings by artists Moe Hahn, Wanda McVeigh, Nick Paff Sr. and Dolores Witt, as well as photographer Yasmin Cooper-Bey. There is a special exhibit of Native American baskets, courtesy of Mary Berryman of Homosassa, along with sculptures and jewelry designed and crafted by Evie Harper. The city also has a private collection of donated works on display, including Brooksville historic prints by Lewis Watkins. A reception to meet the artists is scheduled for 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 17. 544-5407.

This Clint Eastwood film is based on the bestselling book of the same name by James Bradley and Ron Powers, which tells the stories of the men who raised the American flag in the famous photo at Iwo Jima during World War II.
