Two insurance companies set to merge Sept. 1

Comegys Insurance Corner is merging with Brandon-based Florida Contractor Insurance, and the two will share the Comegys offices at One Beach Drive downtown. Florida Contractor Insurance brings its specialty of insuring firms in the construction industry to the full-service Comegys office, which has been in business since 1939. The merger is effective Sept. 1. Comegys is run by CEO Mark Berset and president Linda Comegys Berset. Comegys will create a new Construction Insurance Division, which will be run by Mark Sierra and the former FCI employees.

That's interesting Mark. I hadn't heard about that and I work at RJ in Carillon. Is Allstate sending the jobs to India, or is that part of pulling out of Florida? Best of luck to you.

How come there is no mention of Allstate closing it's call center located in the Carillon complex in Sept '08? And all those people who are going to lose their jobs because of this?
