Preseason pigskin

So, are you ready for some football? With a few exceptions, high school fans across the county are emphatically optimistic about their teams chances. And who can blame them? Over the past five seasons, 19 of the county's 25 teams have advanced to the playoffs.

Right now it's anybody's ball game. After all, it's the preseason.

Tonight kicks off the bulk of the schedule (Countryside started things off with its game Thursday night against Alonso).

One of the more intriguing matchups is East Lake at Ridgewood, a game that pits teams with winning records from last season that failed to make the playoffs.

And if you're into rivalries, you might want to check out Clearwater at Largo. It's the only time they will play each other this season.
