JoAnn Mahfood, registered dental hygienist at Spring Hill Dental Associates, 11025 Spring Hill Drive, Spring Hill, was recently recognized for her 14th year of employment at the practice.
Drs. Edward Augustyniak and Paul Lu honored Mahfood with an office celebration.
Mahfood is an honors graduate of the dental hygiene program at Pasco-Hernando Community College. She is the recipient of many awards, including the outstanding clinician award and outstanding academic award.

Dr. Brian J. Bixler has joined Pinnacle Family Medicine, PA, 120 Medical Blvd., Suite 108, Spring Hill, as the new partner of Dr. Charles C. Sullivan.
Bixler comes to the practice from Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma, where he served as a major in the Air Force. He is a graduate of David Grant Medical Center and is board certified in family medicine.
Bixler played college football for Western Kentucky University. He is married with two young daughters, and will be involved with the treatment of young athletes in the community and practicing sports medicine.

Dr. Richard Caradonna of the Florida Cancer Institute was recognized for his service as chairman of Oak Hill Hospital's cancer committee.
Caradonna was recognized by the hospital's cancer committee at its quarterly meeting Aug. 1 for serving as chairman from May 2001 through February 2007. The committee presented Caradonna with a plaque.
Caradonna has served on the cancer committee since its inception and was an integral member of the steering committee that brought initial approval of Oak Hill Hospital's cancer program by the American College of Surgeons.
Caradonna has served as vice chief of staff and chief of staff at Oak Hill Hospital. He is board certified in medical oncology and internal medicine, and has facilitated, through the cancer committee, many programs relating to the early detection and prevention of cancer.

Dr. Robert G. Blackburn, board certified family practice physician with All American Medical Associates, PA, 10494 Northcliffe Blvd., Spring Hill, recently attended the 27th annual Florida Society of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians Convention and National Family Practice Update in Orlando.
Blackburn lectured on "Botulinum Toxin and Cosmetic Procedures" with a hands-on workshop. He also demonstrated Botox injection techniques.
Blackburn is a past president and current board member of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians.

The Home Business Women's Network Group of Spring Hill will host a fundraiser to benefit the Dawn Center from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 8 at the Sylvan Grove community clubhouse, 2490 Kingswood Circle, south of Brooksville.
The organization is a noncompete group of women who own home-based businesses. New members are welcome.
Vendors are needed. The cost per table is $25. The group is also accepting donations, such as nonperishables, diapers, women's toiletries, gas and gift cards for the Dawn Center.
