Video penguin teaches ways to save a life
A mother of three who almost lost a daughter to drowning has created an online video illustrating infant/child CPR and the Heimlich maneuver. The CHASE for Life campaign, named after the rescued child, features the cartoon character Paddy the Penguin in an 18-minute animated video. Volunteers needed for rosacea trial
People who have rosacea, a facial skin condition, are extremely affected by the sun's rays, though many people do not know they have rosacea. Symptoms are visible redness of the forehead, cheeks and chin. The Tampa Bay Medical Research facility is offering a free examination as it seeks volunteers for a medication study. The study requires four visits to the Clearwater offices. Candidates must be at least 18 years old. For information, call (727) 724-3316, ext. 108.

Foods can worsen allergic reactions
For some people allergic to the seasonal airborne pollen proteins of trees, grass and weeds, symptoms worsen after eating some fresh fruits and vegetables, including banana, cucumber, melon and sunflower seeds. These people have oral allergy syndrome, also called pollen-food syndrome, according to the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology. Cooking the foods will frequently reduce or eliminate the reaction.
