Business agency won't meet; nothing to do

Don't be alarmed, it's a hydrant test
Hernando County Utilities and Spring Hill Fire Rescue will be flow-testing fire hydrants on Commercial Way, between Osowaw Boulevard and County Line Road, between 9:30 and 11:30 a.m. Thursday. Businesses and residents in this area may experience low water pressure, cloudy or discolored water during this testing period. For information, call the utilities department at 754-4037.

Home at Last Pet Adoptionsand Petco will host a cat and kitten adopt-a-thon from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturdayat Petco, 7223 Coastal Blvd., off Cortez Boulevard. All cats have been spayed or neutered, have age-appropriate vaccinations, tested negative for feline leukemia and AIDS, have been treated for parasites if necessary and have been microchipped. Girls, the big diamond awaits
The Spring Hill Dixie Girls Softball League will have signups for girls 5 to 18 from 6 to 9 p.m. today and Sept. 6 at Delta Woods Park on Deltona Boulevard. The cost is $55 per player. A birth certificate is required at registration. Practice and games run from September through November. All games will be at the Anderson Snow Park sports complex.
