Golf Challenge: Two teams from Beacon Woods Golf Club competed in the regional ESPN-Callaway National Golf Challenge at Hunter's Green on Aug. 11. The challenge is to find the best two-some in America. Jeff Fratto and Dave Fraize competed along with John Mariano and Brian Potter.
Spring Hill: The Spring Hill ladies won the Rambler's Tournament in June. Karren Ditt, Barbara Fleming, Betty Follansbee, Valerie Harris, Mary Jane Messino, Judy Mix, Lu Rebellato and Ruth Stover made up the Spring Hill team. The tournament was held at 11 golf courses in Citrus, Hernando and Pasco counties.
League play: The Spring Hill Saturday AM League has moved to Oak Hills Golf Club. Start time is 8 a.m. on Saturday. For more information call Dom Cretella at 352 688-6480.
UPCOMING TOURNAMENTS
Friday: Silverado Golf & Country Club in Zephyrhills will host the Sound Off For Kids Golf Classic. The four-person scramble tournament will benefit the Bolesta Center and starts at 1 p.m. on Friday. Call (813) 788-1225 for more information.
Sept. 8: Rivard Golf & Country Club will hold a tournament benefiting the Hernando SPCA on Sept. 8. The four-player scramble tournament will have a shotgun start at 8 a.m. Registration, which includes golf and lunch, is $40 and the deadline is Saturday. Prizes will be awarded, and hole sponsorships are available. Call (352) 796-1410.
Oct. 13: Heather Golf & Country Club will hold a tournament benefiting the Alzheimer's Family Organization on Oct. 13. Registration is at 7:45 a.m. and there will be a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. Entry fee is $30, which includes golf and a BBQ lunch. There will be multiple prizes awarded, a 50-50 raffle. Registration deadline is Sept. 15, but early registration is encouraged because golf carts are limited. The rain date is Oct. 27. Call (352) 683-3323 for more information.
