Quick Tip Improve your game with the help of local teaching pros. Your goal: Hit the ball further You should: Start your downswing from the bottom, not the top. Do not start your downswing with your arms. Start with your legs and hips. Use the big muscles of your body and hit the ball solid. - Pete Charbonneau, teaching pro at Seven Hills Golf Club Does part of your golf game need work? E-mail us your questions at communitysports@tampabay.com What's that? An Indian trail tree. Donna Lucas, a member at Hernando Oaks Golf & Country Club, made the connection one day while she was golfing. The tree sits in a relatively harmless place, just beyond the first bunker of the 14th hole, near the cart path. According to Elaine Jordan's book Indian Trail Trees, Native Americans would stake down one side of the young Oak trees so they would grow with a bend. The crooked trees served as landmarks for navigation. What makes your course unique? Write communitysports@tampabay.com
