Let the Chips Fly! Woodcarving returns at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at Veterans Memorial Park, 14333 Hicks Road, Hudson. The three-hour classes are geared for adults. Class: $3 per person. Basic woodcarving techniques for beginners and advanced. Instructor: Edward McCarthy. Call 727 861-3033.

Safe Boating Program: 10:30 a.m. Sept. 8. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary will conduct a six-hour program at Wesley Chapel Toyota, 5300 Eagleston Blvd., at State Road 54 and Interstate 75 with an entrance off Bruce B. The program is "America's Boating Course." There is a $40 charge for textbook, CD-ROM, certificate and wallet card.
