The Crusaders had trouble completing 7-on-7 drills with their low spring numbers (Dudley said they'll suit up 23). But that just means Canterbury, which plays an independent schedule, will have to rely more on its biggest playmakers - QB/CB Brandon Hamilton, RB/LB Joey Cuda and WR Johnny Lancaster.

For Hamilton, a dual threat under center, mobility may be key; the Crusaders graduated four starting linemen (some of whom played both ways last season).

"Brandon's a special player for this level," Dudley said. "You just don't see many like him."
