SEPT. 8 AT OKLAHOMA
Are the Hurricanes back? This game will be a good indication. On the road and a likely underdog, this is Shannon and Miami's first big test.
OCT. 20 AT FSU
Back in its traditional spot in the schedule after three straight Labor Day games. Who knows where the Hurricanes will be by this time of year, but it doesn't matter against the Seminoles. A win could give much needed momentum for the remaining season.
NOV. 17 AT VIRGINIA TECH
This could be for the Coastal Division title. The Hurricanes haven't won an ACC title since joining the league three years ago.

WHO'S YOUR QB?
Kyle Wright or Kirby Freeman? That question has to be answered early if Miami is going to win. Wright threw for more yards, but Freeman played more late in the season.
DEFENSE! DEFENSE!
Opponents averaged 252 yards per game on Miami last season, which ranked second in the ACC. Shannon was the defensive coordinator for Miami, so expect the Hurricanes to be just as tough on defense this season.
FIND THE END ZONE
This is where the Hurricanes struggled last season. They scored 19.6 points per game, including seven against Louisville and Virginia, 10 against FSU and Virginia Tech and 14 against Houston. And 3.5 yards per rush is not going to cut it.
