Labor Day events

In celebration of Labor Day, the following events will be on Monday, unless otherwise specified:
- Aripeka Elks host Labor Day barbecue, 3 p.m., at lodge 2520, 9135 Denton Ave., Hudson. Music provided by Jim & Jim from 3 to 7 p.m., followed by Karaoke by Annie at 7 p.m. Dinner will be at 4 p.m. and will include barbecue ribs, chicken, potato salad, baked beans and corn on the cob. Tickets are $9 for adults, $4.50 for ages younger than 10. (727) 863-2520, ext. 20.
- Marine Corps League Detachment 708 to host Labor Day celebration, noon to 5 p.m., 8405 Sunshine Grove Road, Brooksville. Entertainment will be provided by country music singer Brian Chytka. The cost is $12 for adults and $6 for children younger than 12. The cost includes burgers, chicken and all the fixings as well as draft beer and soda. The lounge will be open. Tickets can be purchased at the lounge or at the door. For information, call 597-7979.
- The Order of the Eastern Star, New Port Richey Chapter 117 will host a "Supper and Singing with the Stars," 4 to 7 p.m., at the Eastern Star building, 52329 Sunset Road, New Port Richey. The menu includes a choice of lobster roll or pulled pork, and will be served with side dishes, a choice of lemonade or ice tea and a dessert. - Polish-American Social Club will host an indoor Labor Day picnic Wednesday at the club, 7615 New Jersey Ave., Hudson. Doors open at 10 a.m. Food served from noon to 1 p.m. and will include hamburgers, hot dogs, salads, dessert and coffee or tea. There will be games, including a cakewalk, until 3 p.m. Dancing will be from 3 to 4 p.m. Tickets are $5. Call Marcella, 597-5908.
- VFW Post 8713 and Ladies Auxiliary host Labor Day Celebration, 2 to 5 p.m., 1681 E Jefferson St., Brooksville. The Country Pride Band will entertain. Hamburgers and hot dogs will be served. Donations will be accepted. Call 796-4449.
