Disney worker arrested on child porn charges
A Disney-MGM Studios worker was arrested Thursday on child pornography charges after authorities say he visited chat sites looking for "hard-core videos involving babies," the Orlando Sentinel reported. Tony Guerra, 21, who works in food services at the theme park, is accused of contacting an undercover Australian agent who was posing as a 32-year-old mother. He asked her lewd questions about her children and sent her 63 still images and four videos of child pornography, according to a complaint filed in federal court. The Kissimmee man, who grew up in Deltona, has worked at Disney-MGM for a year.
Don't drink, drive, authorities warn
Call a cab. Designate a driver. Take the bus. Call 1-800-AAA-HELP and have someone tow your car for free. Do any of that, Tampa Bay law enforcement agencies say, just don't drink and drive. See a drunken driver? Dial *347 on your cell phone and report him or her to the Florida Highway Patrol. Last year, 24 people were killed on Florida roads during the 2006 Labor Day weekend. This year, DUI and traffic safety checkpoints are scheduled across the Tampa Bay area to keep the roads safe. Authorities also plan to put extra officers on the streets to look for drunken drivers.
Bear attacks dog, so man shoots bear
Don't mess with Dennis Griffin's dogs. The Moore Haven man shot a 350-pound black bear in his back yard early Friday after awakening to find it attacking one of his prized hunting hounds, the Palm Beach Post reported. Although Florida black bears are a protected species, state wildlife officials said they had not cited Griffin. Officials suspect the bear was the same one that killed four dogs in the area near the western shore of Lake Okeechobee in the past week. "It's not legal in a normal situation to just shoot a bear because it's fighting with your dog," the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission's Mike Orlando told the Post. "This was a predatory event - five dogs."
