Today's Letters: Crist needs to keep promises
By LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published September 2, 2007
On June, I received my homeowners insurance premium notice and, as most everyone can imagine, I was more than just a little displeased; the cost went up as my frown went further down.
In August, I received my Truth in Millage, or TRIM, notice and, as most everyone can imagine, I was shortchanged on my expectations. Sure, I saved a bit, but it was still something that made me grit my teeth.
Also in August, I was pleased to see how much I saved on my auto insurance. But then my mind went "flip" because I had to purchase additional medical insurance because, in October, I lose my personal injury protection.
When I consider all this, I realize that all the talk about saving money and fees was nothing but a terrible tease.
I voted for Gov. Charlie Crist in November, and all those promises of relief, I surely remember. I send this message to Crist: Please, it's time to correct your guidance of the Florida Legislature, because I'm not the only one experiencing such painful displeasure.

Re: Rogers Christmas House
Owner isn't only one suffering
Unfortunately, this is not just "a family matter." Other people are involved - laid-off employees, neighboring businesses, the whole city of Brooksville.
Let's hope that Donna Jones can overcome her present difficulties. We wish her well.

Crist also promised Floridians and spoke to me directly that he will fight to save PIP.
He NOW seems to be turning his back and leaving up to his corrupt minion Marco Rubio, who works for big insurance interests.
Where is the leader we voted for?

We need to save PIP. Crist must step up and be a leader. Rubio has been swayed by big insurance to kill PIP. We need leadership. No more empty promises. STEP UP CHARLIE!

Governor Crist needs to keep his campaign promises of: 1) "Dropping taxes like a rock" 2) cutting homeowner's insurance.
Start all over and do it right. Get help from Speaker Marco Rubio And Senator Mike Haridopolos and really help Floridian owners

Renters do not techically pay any property taxes. You could say some of the taxes is passed on, but you can also say some savings is passed on too.
You could also say renters are not paying "true cost" to rent. The real question is are renters...

dear ron rae: next time don't vote based solely on lofty campaign promises and catchy slogans. if u had done ur research, u would know the person u voted 4 got there by telling people what they want to hear, but not really doing anything substantive.

Crist ALSO promised to give some relief to non-homesteaders--we are STILL the forgotten ones--renters pay more to help pay for exorbitant taxes, insurance and other waste.
