Charles W. Justice Senior program manager, Applied Technologies Group, PBS&J
Charles W. Justice brings 19 years of experience to Tampa engineering firm PBS&J. Most recently, Justice was a program manager for the U.S. Air Force 45th Space Wing's Downrange Stations: Antigua Air Station and Ascension Auxiliary Airfield. Justice was awarded the 2005 Computer Sciences Corp.'s Presidential Award, Federal Sector, for program/project management. He has served as a U.S. Coast Guard Merchant Marine officer and earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Central Florida.
Daniel Jackson Chief operating officer, Northside Hospital & Tampa Bay Heart Institute
In his new role, Daniel Jackson will be responsible for the daily operations of Northside Hospital and the Tampa Bay Heart Institute. Most recently, Jackson was CEO of Northlake Medical Center in Tucker, Ga. Previously, he was CEO of Alleghany Regional Hospital in Low Moor, Va. Jackson, an accredited fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, earned his master's degree in public health administration from Meharry Medical College and a bachelor's degree from Morehouse College. Jackson lives in Tampa with his wife and son.
David Armijo Executive director, Hillsborough Area Regional Transit Authority
David Armijo brings 25 years of experience in the transportation industry to his new role with the Hillsborough Area Regional Transit Authority. Most recently, he was chief toll operations officer for the Transportation Corridors Agency in Orange County, Calif. Before that, he was general manager for the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority and director of operations at the Orange County Transportation Authority. Armijo earned a master's degree in public administration from California State University and has taught at California State University at Long Beach.
Steve Shaw Director of services, Vertical IT Solutions
Steve Shaw brings 26 years of experience to Vertical IT Solutions, a Tampa provider of outsourced voice and data services. Most recently, Shaw was an area manager for Verizon in Tampa. Previously, he was an area manager for Verizon in Lewisville, Texas; senior marketing manager for GTE/Verizon in Irving, Texas; and operations supervisor for GTE in Tampa. Shaw earned a bachelor's degree in management from the University of Tampa and is a member of Sigma Beta Delta. He is a coordinator for the Saturday Scholars Foundation, a tutoring program for at-risk middle school children.

Colleen Herr has been named intern at Wedding + Stephenson Architects Inc., St. Petersburg. Herr is a recent graduate from the University of Florida.
Deborah M. Dowdhas been named business development director at K4 Architecture LLC, Tampa. Dowd was marketing and business development director at University Housing Services, St. Petersburg.

Tom Lee has been named to the Brandon division advisory board at the Bank of Tampa's Brandon division. Lee is vice president of Sabal Home of Florida Inc. Brandon.
Deborah Sheridanhas been named senior vice president/commercial banker at Synovus Bank, Tampa. Sheridan was a senior commercial lender at RBC Centura Bank, Tampa.
CONSULTING
Russ Haines has been named a senior consultant and practice leader for the career transitions and management division at Gerson Goodson Inc., Clearwater. Haines was adviser/consultant with Wakefield Hall Inc., Tampa.
ENGINEERING
D. Edward Davis has been installed as the 2007-2008 president of the Florida Engineering Society. Davis is vice president and chief engineer at CH2M Hill, Tampa.
Deborah Veasey has been named a project geologist at PSI, Tampa. Veasey is a graduate of the University of South Florida with a bachelor's degree in geology.
GLE Associates, Tampa, announces the addition of Lawrence Johnson and Michael Clements as environmental scientists; and Anna Kucenic has been named proposal coordinator in the marketing department. Johnson was an environmental technician at Titan Environmental Services, Kansas City; Clements is a recent graduate of the University of New South in South Wales, Sydney; and Kucenic was a marketing assistant at Gold's Gym, St. Petersburg.
HNTB, Tampa, announces that Wendy Tse, Timothy Dunn and Zachary Sarver have joined the firm as transportation designers. Tse was a civil engineer at Gannett Fleming Engineers in New York; Dunn was an HNTB summer intern; and Sarver is a recent graduate of the University of Florida with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
Reynolds, Smith and Hills Inc., Tampa, announces these appointments:Joseph Blazina, intern in the community design service group; Zachary Gross, intern in the water resources services group; and Anshuman "Osh" Ganguli, civil engineer in the transportation and public infrastructure program. Joshua Magidsonis the recipient of the 2007 Richard T. Earle Jr. Professionalism Award. Given by the Barney Masterson Inns of Court, the award recognizes a lawyer who demonstrates the highest degree of professionalism in the practice of law in the county and circuit courts. Magidson is a shareholder at Macfarlane, Ferguson & McMullen, Clearwater.
John Neukamm has been elected a member of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers. Neukamm is shareholder at Mechanik Nuccio Hearne & Wester PA, Tampa.
William Reece Smith Jr. is the recipient of the Fellows of the American Bar Association Young Lawyers Division 2007 Annual Fellows Award. The award recognizes service to public or to the legal profession. Smith is chair emeritus at Carlton Fields, Tampa.

UNIVERSITIES
Dr. D. Yogi Goswami is the recipient of the American Solar Energy Society's 2007 Hoyt Clarke Hottel Award and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers' 2007 Frank Keith Energy Award. Goswami is the John & Naida Ramil professor of chemical engineering and co-chairman of the University of South Florida's College of Engineering Clean Energy Research Center, Tampa.
Charles H. Rose has been named director of Stetson University College of Law's Center for Excellence in Advocacy, Gulfport. Rose is professor and teaches professionalism, trial advocacy, criminal procedures and evidence.
