Saturday: The 5K Cross Country Race and 2-Mile Fun Walk will be at Whispering Oaks Country Club in Ridge Manor. The first 50 5K registrants get a T-shirt. Medals and trophies will be awarded, and all age groups are welcome. Race day registration is 7:30 to 8 a.m. The race and walk start promptly at 8:15 a.m. Preregistration is $20, $25 on race day. Check it out: The Florida Krush football team plans to launch a squad in 2008 and will join the North American Football League, which is made up of 100-plus teams nationwide.
