Plant senior leads volleyball win

Kellie Catanach is not your typical setter.
Unlike many who play her position, the Plant senior isn't one-dimensional.
Or, for that matter, two-dimensional.
"She actually has three dimensions," Panthers coach Leanna Taylor said. "She can set every ball a hitter would want, she can attack at the net, and she's smart enough to read defenses."
Tuesday night, all of Catanach's skills were on display in Plant's 25-19, 25-14, 25-18 win over Sickles. The 6-foot-2 standout, who is headed to Duke next year, finished with 30 assists, 10 digs, seven kills and three aces.
"We were a little slow, but she carried our team," Taylor said.
Others also contributed.
One of them was sophomore outside hitter Maddie Martin, who led the defending state champ (3-0) with 13 kills.
Plant has won 31 of its past 33 matches.
