Talk of the bay: $11 to park at Disney? That's just goofy

Once people openly questioned how families can afford those ever-increasing theme park admissions. Soon they may say the same thing about parking. Walt Disney World on Sunday quietly nudged the daily parking fee up a buck to $11 at each of its four Florida parks. Disney's fee mirrored a recent increase to $11 at rival Universal Orlando as all the big parks doubled their parking fees in five years. Busch Entertainment Corp. parks have yet to follow the latest pricing burst. Sea World remains $10 for now. Busch Gardens Africa in Tampa is sticking with $9. Parking remains free at Disney water parks and entertainment districts.

Jeb's another Bush among the bulls

Jeb takes Wall Street! Wall Street Journal reporters wasted no time noting that former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush's joining investment giant Lehman Brothers gives the Wall Street firm an edge in the "arms race by private-equity firms to line up ever-higher-profile advisers." Lehman hired the presidential son and brother for its in-house investing arm, a gig sure to help the ex-governor's personal coffer, which had been thinned by his time in public office in Tallahassee. Ex-politicos with brand recognition remain hot items on Wall Street as private-equity firms and hedge funds look for people with clout to open doors for potential deals. As the Journal notes, few families can open more doors than the Bushes. Jeb's father, the former president, served as an adviser to the private-equity firm Carlyle Group. His grandfather was a partner at Wall Street firm Brown Brothers Harriman. And his cousin, George Walker, runs Lehman's asset-management operation.
