EASTSIDE ELEMENTARY
Eastside Elementary School psychologist Allison Gibson was selected as one of eight Florida first-place winners in the Got 2B Safe! Awards Program. She won a $500 gift certificate for school supplies from sponsors Honeywell and the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. Winning teachers were selected based on essays describing how they taught students the program's four safety rules: Check first checking with parents or guardians before accepting anything from strangers; Go with a friend (don't go anywhere alone); It's my body (awareness of inappropriate touching); and Tell a trusted adult (if something uncomfortable has happened).
