Over coffee, talk turns to end of life

The Hospice of the Florida Suncoast is presenting caregiver coffee breaks. Those caring for people with chronic or end-of-life illnesses will have an opportunity to ask questions and learn how to make time more meaningful and comfortable for all. The dates, times and locations of the coffee breaks are listed below.

- 10 to 11:30 a.m. Friday and 6 to 7:30 p.m. Sept. 12 at the Garden House Hospice community service center, 5771 Roosevelt Blvd., Largo.

- 10 a.m. Sept. 12 at St. Mark Village, 2655 Nebraska Ave., Palm Harbor.

- 10 to 11:30 a.m. Sept. 13 at the hospice community service center at 2675 Tampa Road, Palm Harbor.

Child singers can try out for musical

Auditions for the Francis Wilson Playhouse production of a children's Christmas musical, A Star is Born, are from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at the theater, 302 Seminole St., Clearwater. The musical calls for a large cast of child singers ages 8 through 14 and one adult man or woman for singing and acting. Participants should dress for movement and wear closed-toe shoes. Show dates are Dec. 1, 8 and 15. Rehearsals will be once a week through mid November. For more information, call (727) 446-1360.

Free class teachespet first aid, CPR

The SPCA Tampa Bay is offering a free Pet First Aid and CPR seminar from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the shelter at 9099 130th Ave. N, off Starkey Road just south of Ulmerton Road. The guest instructor will be Dr. Michael Rumore of Lake Seminole Animal Hospital. Reservations are required and can be made by calling the SPCA at (727) 586-3591 or visit www.spcatampabay.org.
