Wear red Sept. 14 to support military
A Red Friday Celebration is planned for 5 p.m. Sept. 14 at the Land O'Lakes Moose Lodge, 7623 U.S. 41, just north of the Land O'Lakes High School. Communities around the United States have adopted a tradition of wearing red on this first Friday after Sept. 11 to show support for the troops. The club has designed red T-shirts and is selling them to raise money for sending care packages to the troops. Donations will be collected in barrels and items requested include baby wipes, batteries and nonperishable foods. The Florida Blood Services Blood Mobile will be at the lodge from 4 to 8 p.m. and there will be food, raffles, auctions and karaoke. Call (813) 996-2871.
